The Argyll Car Rally 2003

As usual, a large number of entrants are expected to take up the challenge of 45 miles and six special stages of rough forest track in the annual Argyll Rally being held on 17th May 2003

Teams, averaging five members, from across Britain race cars ranging from Mitsubishis and Subarus to smaller capacity youth competitor cars.

Previously called the Burmach International Rally, the Argyll Rally has been running for more than 30 years on the forest tracks around Dunoon and the Cowel Peninsula. In 1999 it was voted best rally in Scotland.

The Argyll Rally forms part of the eight-round Scottish Rally Championships. The 2003 championships kick off in Inverness with the Snowman Rally on February 15th, followed by the Border Counties Rally in March.

Organised by the Lanarkshire Car Club the rally attracts an increasing number of entrants and over 3,000 spectators. The scenery is spectacular and it's an exciting event to watch as well as race in.

The Argyll Rally starts from Dunoon at 10am with the first car expected to return around 5pm.
